One man's trash
is another man's
treasure
The Trash Design special exhibition, now making its third appearance at Habitare, unfolds the fascinating potential of scrap material design. Worn or phased out objects, rejects, or waste items are given a new lease of life through an open-minded redesign and upgrade for a new use. Trash design represents a visual and ethical lifestyle that does not shy away from modern technology.
The trash design philosophy follows natural cycles: after a fruitful growing season comes the harvest time. The Trash Design exhibition will be redesigned in terms of visuals and objects exhibited. Taking centre stage will be up-and-coming young designers.
The Trash Design special exhibition is organised by the Finnish Fair Corporation and produced by Dodo, a company formed by the fashion designer Isa Kukkapuro and trash designer Henrik Enbom. Kukkapuro and Enbom are experienced designers and prolific writers on design.
